IRFS Closing Ceremony

On October 26, 2015, the Carolinian Circle of Young Diplomats under the Department of Political Science specializing on International Relations and Foreign Service had their closing ceremonies. The evening event served as a diplomatic gathering slash soiree in the City Hall's Session Hall. The registration started around 5:00 pm and everyone was expected to be in their corporate attire. The Head Minister and Members of Parliament came early to set up the mood and venue, designating assignments amongst themselves. As the people arrived and swept in, there is a bottle of champagne awaiting and ready for consumption in small amounts. A great number of the IRFS population attended the culminating event. The Head of Track, Atty. Archill Niña Faller Capistrano, IRFS alumna Danica Blanche Fernandez, and Diplomatic Protocol professor Ms. Shieda Henry also graced the venue with their presence. Moreover, with the formal commencement, the students grouped according to their HOST Teams -composed of Hegemons, Optimizers, Superpower and Titans respectively. Each HOST team's flag flashed before the screen and the members stood up accordingly.

The Head of Track, Atty. Archill Niña Faller Capistrano officially began the program welcoming a number of IRFS majors. Before any of the intellectual games and activities were accomplished, the students lined up for the diplomatic dinner. After the sumptuous course, Mr. Sean Aljas, the Prime Minister of CCYD stand in front to deliver his welcoming speech. A sequence of games then proceeded to unfold from the incorporated Diplomathlon held every year for the IRFS track month. Each HOST team pick a bet for the Mr. and Ms. United Nations. The first round is to transform them in the country which they will represent. The supporting members scour into the sack filled with costumes.

The representatives from Hegemon come across China, the frontrunners of Superpower run into Egypt, the candidates of Optimizers are chosen for Greece and the Titans go with Mexico. Concluding the event was a special message from Melissa dela Cruz, an alumna of IRFS currently in New York to pursue further studies, was read by Danica Fernandez. The grand night of the students finally ended with the IRFS spirit intricately woven into each one’s being.
